This is a picture of my dog Ellie that inspired me to set up the site. She’s a 5 year old English Springer Spaniel (Rytex line). Her hunting ground is in the heart of the Aberdeenshire Hills in Scotland. The photograph you see is close to the 13th Century Scottish Hillfort at Dunnydeer – it’s a great area for training spaniels with various shoots and rough ground for working the dogs.

I’d like to think that she has been fairly well trained and cared for over the years – as they say, the more you put into them the more you get out of them. This is my first Spaniel after a long list of other (mostly working breeds) and I have been impressed with the ease of training after adopting the ‘right’ approach to training based on praise and encouragement. 

Over the years, I have read all of the top Books, DVD’s and Magazine articles as well as using the latest training care products for Spaniels. In the website, we will be reviewing these in more detail in the future. You will be seeing a lot more of my dog and many other well trained spaniels for both work and as pets. Overall, we want you  to can get the best out of your dog and have some great fun in the process !.
